*Spot Light* – Backyard Transformation to a Functional Living Space
Back in the day when I was running my own landscape construction business in Columbus, I had the opportunity to design modern outdoor spaces. My clients wanted a space that reflected a more modern take on the outdoor garden. I chose to blend different colors, textures, and materials together to create a unique intimate space for my clients. Using complementing colors of brick and blue stone (hot and cold) gives the space interest instead of a mono tone installation. Textures of the natural blue stone walkway and the brick cobble stone create an unique dining space in the middle of the backyard. Using Mexican beach pebbles as an accent gives a splash of texture to the area. The Beach pebbles actually serve a dual purpose hiding a backyard drainage system. I also installed low maintenance plantings and a sodded blue grass lawn to complete this space.
